3 glasses filled with watermelon lemonade.I posted a picture of chopped watermelon on my Instagram and asked my followers to guess what I would be making with it. The incentive was that the winner would win a copy of my party E-Cookbook. You would be happy to know I had some few guesses but one correct answer... Tadah!! You will be making watermelon lemonade she said. If you are reading this, thank you for participating in my little game. You are a worthy winner.overhead shot of iced watermelon lemonade garnished with mint leaves. Back to this watermelon lemonade recipe, what is not to love about watermelon? My friend gave me a large watermelon recently and after eating half of it on its own, I thought to put the remaining to another good use. Also, I had three large juicy lemons which needed using ASAP.

Are you thinking what I am thinking? If life gives you lemons and you already have watermelon, why not make some watermelon lemonade?3 glasses filled with watermelon lemonade.

I must warn you not to drink this watermelon lemonade with a straw, you would finish a litre before you realise you have to share this refreshing drink with others. Watermelon lemonade is made with 3 simple ingredients lemon, sugar, watermelon and some ice. It is an absolute delight, super tasty and refreshing.

This recipe is perfect for both young and old. To make the watermelon lemonade alcoholic, add some vodka, rum or gin and make some watermelon cocktail.... oh yum yum.

What do I need for watermelon lemonade

    Watermelon
    Sugar
    Water
    Lemon juice
    Ice
    Mint

    How to make watermelon lemonade

Cut the watermelon into 2 then slice to manageable segments, dice the watermelon. You will need about 6 cups for this recipe.
Blend watermelon in a power blender and pass the juice through a tiny mesh. You can eat the pulp if you wish or add a bit to the watermelon juice.

Place a small saucepan on medium heat, add sugar and water to make syrup.

Add the lemonade juice to a pitcher, then add the lemon juice. Stir in the sugar syrup, add some ice and finish it off with some mint leaves.

blender filled with fruit to be blended.

    Tips

If watermelon juice becomes cloudy after sieving, there is a probability that you haven't sieved it through a tiny mesh and some pulp has escaped into the juice. There is nothing to worry about as it doesn't affect the taste. If you want, you can sieve it again but this time using the tiniest hole sieve you may have.

Watermelon will separate and sink to the bottom if left to sit for a while. Nothing to fret about, just give it a quick stir and drink up.

Hi Ng, no the watermelon will not be warm and the syrup must be cool before use too.
