    Coconut Yam Porridge (Yam pottage)

    January 4, 2016

    coconut yam porridge

I love yam porridge or yam pottage as it’s called in Nigeria but you all know that I don’t cook it all the time as I leave that for hubby to do. He does it better in my opinion and he’s never had a bad day with it before. This time, I did try to cook it myself with a twist and minimal ingredients and it turned out amazingly well. I must confess my love and attachment to coconut milk now.

2015 has been a great year for me and I am eternally thankful to God and all of you my precious beautiful readers. Spicy Tomato Jam

Tomato and ata rodo jam recipe

What other time of the year it is to share this lovely recipe but now. For some years now, I kind of make it a duty to make my own chutney or jam around Christmas time. Last year was epic, as I made sure every food on my Christmas menu was home-made including the drinks. I was so proud of myself and I kinda felt like a superwoman.

    Plantain and Peanut Muffins

    Plantain and peanut muffin

If you have been following my blog for a while now, you would know I love everything plantain. My only beef about plantain is just that I don’t have the patience to fry it; but why does it have to taste so good when fried? I just love plantain and I’m yet to come across a Nigerian that hates plantain.

    December 5, 2015

    Nigerian egg roll recipe

I can do all things cooking and baking, not in the case of this Nigerian egg roll. I couldn’t make it to save my own life until recently. As easy as this recipe is, I struggled with it a lot and I almost gave up because each time I tried making it has been a disaster. Honestly, it is one of the easiest street snack in Nigeria and it is not rocket science.

    nigerian chicken pie recipe

I made some yummy mince and aubergine sauce recently and it was like a 2 in 1 recipe. The second recipe not detailed was a meal idea on how to use the left over mince sauce which can be used as a pie filling. Believe me it tasted amazing, well if I do say so myself.  So I made some chicken pie recently and guess what

    obe gbure elegusi

I was on the phone to my mum and our conversation soon turned to food. My sister cooked obe gbure elegusi some years back and it’s still the best gbure soup I have had till date. TBH, I have not been able to beat it. There is something about the soup that have never stopped me talking about it, the taste was out of this world, it was amazing.
